USCCB Cardinal Letter to President ObamaUS Bishop's Open Dialogue with President
Offering an "agenda for dialogue and action" Cardinal Francis George, President of the U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops, detailed the public policy concerns and priorities of the USCCB for President-elect Obama.
Citing the fundamental respect for life, the economy, international issues, and much more, Cardinal George emphasized the list was only an outline.
The Cardinal pledged to "offer a constructive and principled contribution to national discussions over the values and policies that will shape our nation's future...while disagreeing respectfully and civilly where necessary." Read the complete letter. It was also sent to the Vice President-elect and all members of Congress.
