Pictured with Most Worthy Supreme Knight James Ellis (center), Jr. Knights and Jr. Daughters from the Western States District attended the 2017 KPC Jr. National Convention held in Kansas City, Missouri on July 6-9, 2017. District Deputy Bruce Sampson, WSD Jr. Knight Director Darryl Dickerson and WSD Jr. Daughter Directress Lydia Price accompanied several Juniors from the Western States District during the leadership building and fun-filled weekend. WSD Jr. Conference Jr. Daughter President, Rashida Garcia, of Jr. Court #306, represented the Western States on the Jr. National Board of Directors at this convention. Jr. Daughter Cori Chapman of Jr. Court 220 took the extra step of running for a Jr. National Office at this convention. The lifelong friends and memories each Jr. made at this convention will be something they will remember for the rest of their lives. The Jr. National Convention Awards Banquet was great! Multiple winners from Junior Courts 220 and 306. Junior Knight Ayiden Tyler of Branch 358 and Junior Daughter Rashida Garcia, of Junior Court 306 were winners in both talent and Performance as Junior Knight and Junior Daughter of the Year!
Junior Knight Brian Young of Branch 358 came with four votes of being the elected National Junior Knight Sergeant at Arms--and he didn't have a stitch of campaign material. He came close to defeating a strong candidate from Texas in the run-off election. Kudos to our Juniors for representating the Western States on the National level. Remember our Juniors are the future of this organization.
